Apple Store app may soon get an AI-powered shopping assistant

Apple has updated the privacy policy of the Apple Store app to include terms for a forthcoming virtual shopping assistant. This assistant will utilize user data, such as account information and location, to personalize interactions and assist with purchase decisions. Apple will anonymize chat data before sharing it with partners, indicating that a third-party AI model may be involved. Users will have access to chat transcripts for future reference and can opt in to allow their conversations to contribute to the assistant's improvements. The rollout is expected to start in select English-speaking regions.
